Dylan turned 3 years old yesterday... Where has the time gone? I can't believe that my baby is getting so big. His birthday party was this past Saturday on 9/10, and he had such a good time. He went back and forth between wanting a Thomas the Tank Engine party and a "bull-bozer" party, but ultimately, we went with Thomas. We had the party at a park in Charlestown that we go to all the time, and fortunately, after a few rough days weather-wise earlier in the week, we got a nice, warm, sunny day. Dylan was in a great mood and even posed for pictures and let us sing "Happy Birthday" to him. Normally, he pitches one heck of a hissy fit if he even hears the first note of that song, but, he must have been in the spirit of the day, because he grinned the entire time we sang. We did honor request that we not have balloons, though. Didn't want to push the little guy too far on his special day!
He got a ton of great presents that he ripped out of the packages as soon as we got home, and his special present from Daddy, Mommy, and Ethan was a big boy bike. His face lit up when he saw it and he hopped right on. We went outside tonight to ride for a little while, and he was a natural. Now, he can keep up with Bubby.
It's amazing how fast they are growing and how much I love them with my whole heart. My mom always made birthdays and holidays special for me as a kid, and I hope that I can make them that way for my boys, too. Here are some pics from the party...
